I think there will be three changes in online video in the future, one is getting shorter and shorter, the other is interactive, and the third is personalization. First of all, I think that online videos will become shorter and shorter, because the pace of life in today’s society is getting faster and faster, and people will only become more and more enthusiastic about short videos, because online short videos are very convenient and satisfy people. Picky appetite. More and more short video platforms are emerging in China, such as ‘tik tok’. This short video software allows users to publish their own recorded short videos on the platform, while other users can also watch these videos and forward them. These recorded videos will randomly appear on your screen, and then you can choose to watch or swipe directly to the next video according to your preferences. Second, I think that future online videos will become interactive, which means that viewers can interact with the scenes and tasks in the video, such as zooming in or out of some scenes in the video. The third is personalization. I think there is a huge market for personalization. Just like interactivity, viewers prefer to participate in videos, so online videos can create unique cartoon images or personal images for viewers and then participate in the videos. For example, the personal video launched by Cadbury combines the audience ’s own content (once they agree to click on the ad) to automatically generate a video and speak directly to them(Carter, 2019).

Advertisers have many advantages in investing in online video advertising because the audience for online video is rapidly increasing. The report shows that there are 4 billion video playbacks on YouTube every day, and about one third of consumers will Buy a product after watching the ad (EyecandyInfographic Blog – EyecandyInfographic, 2019) . And audiences who watch online videos like to share videos. Most online video platforms will have their own social networks. Users can easily forward the videos they are interested in, which will help the advertisements in the videos to spread further. On the other hand, people are more and more interested in watching videos, especially short videos, on mobile devices, so advertisers can consider inserting advertisements in short videos. The advantage of this is that because short videos soon end, people ca n’t wait to go to the next one. Video and ads appear more often. Secondly, video also has a basic advantage is that it has visual and audio. Video ads undoubtedly can capture the attention of the audience and make them more interested, and people are lazy, and video is easier to digest (Wallace, 2019) . In general, online video advertising combines the advantages of video itself and the characteristics of high-speed transmission of online networks, so that advertising can spread faster and more valuable.

Week 7 Blog

I think the main audience of online videos is mostly young people, because they are more enthusiastic about surfing the Internet and have more time. The age of these young people is mainly between 18 and 29 (Pew Research Center: Internet, Science & Tech, 2019) . Reports show that three-quarters of this age group watch or download videos online, and most of these people watch videos on Youtube (Scott , 2019) . And these young people are not only keen to watch online videos, but also to socialize on the video platform, so young people prefer to share videos with friends that they find interesting, thereby increasing the number of video clicks. In terms of gender, 60% of men like to watch the Internet, and only 40% of women. I think the main reason for men is that men go online more often and prefer to stay at home online and men prefer to try new technologies, so they often browse various websites.

On the other hand, most people are beginning to use mobile phones to watch online videos, which makes more users start to browse videos on the Internet because mobile phones are convenient and fast. And with the development of current network technology, we can easily watch high-definition videos on mobile phones, so anyone can watch online videos anytime, anywhere in their free time, so I think that any age, gender, and professional audience are online There is potential to rise on the video.

Week 6 Blog

The earliest online videos date back to 1993, when web browsers were able to transmit images, but the technology at the time did not support the development of online video. In 2003, FLASH began to rise, it is the prototype of online video(Clipchamp, 2019). In 2005, the true meaning of online video began to appear, because at that time, ordinary families already had a high-speed Internet(Jon, 2019). From the advent of online video to the establishment of youtube, rapid changes have taken place in just a decade. The online video was gradually transformed into a fixed website by a team of people with the same interests at first, and then a large number of stars with many fans brought huge benefits to the platform. Now, sites such as FaceBook and Twitter are competing to launch online videos. The marketing strategy even adjusts the form of the platform to better apply online video. In 2010, there was an award for online video.

I think the reason for the rapid development of online video is the development of technology and the increasingly busy life of people. With the development of network technology, our internet speed has been improved, and a lot of interesting information can be accessed on the network. So people are keen to socialize on the web. With the development of the Internet speed, people began to dissatisfied with the use of mobile phones to make calls only, people began to use mobile phones to socialize on the Internet, which promoted the development of short videos, which is also the way people can get short-term entertainment during busy hours.

Week 5 Blog

Hello everyone, this is Aries’s blog. I am Aries, a boy from Shandong, China. My hometown is a beautiful city. I have mountains and water. If I am interested in my hometown, I can talk to me. I might write something about my hometown on my blog. I graduated from high school a year ago and came to Australia to study. I am currently a SAIBT student. I majored in IT.
